How to Submit |

| Authors are requested to submit their abstracts prepared in MS Word via the Internet (URL: www.ista2008.org). Those unable to complete the on-line submission, please contact the Organizing Secretary directly: |

Authors can submit as many abstracts as they want. Presenting author, should be listed first on the abstract. Any of the co-authors may be the presenting author. Presenting authors (both oral and poster presentations) will be expected to register for the meeting. If the registration fee is not paid by July 31, 2008, the presentation will be deleted from the scientific program and the abstract will not be published. |

Instructions for Preparing Abstracts |

The on-line system can only accept MS Word documents. Other documents will not be accepted.
The text should be in English, typed with single line spacing, using 10 pt. Times, Times New Roman, or Symbol font for &alpha, &beta, &mu, etc. with 1¡± margins on all sides |

The title should be in bold capital letters (upper case), flush to the left margin. On a new line, the authors¡¯ names should start with their lastname (surname), followed by their first name and middle initial. No medical degrees or appointments should be included. The presenting author¡¯s name should be underlined. After the authors¡¯ names, there should be one full address for correspondence. The next line should contain the presenting author¡¯s phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. Leave two spaces before beginning the text of the abstract. |

The body of the abstract is limited to 500 words and should contain as much data as possible. |

Paragraph: Indent the first line of each paragraph 5 spaces. Do not leave any space between the paragraphs. |

Spelling: For English spelling, use the Concise Oxford Dictionary or the Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors. Use ¡°ise¡± not ¡°ize¡± spellings. |

Underlining/Italic Type may be used to stress words or phrases. |
| 7 |
Capitals: Use capitals for proper names, titles, geographic names, and trade names. |
| 8 |
Illustrations and Tables will not be accepted. |

When you complete the abstract, save it in the name of the presenting author. ¡°MAC¡± users should add .doc to the document name e.g., Matsuda.doc |

Fill in the abstract submission form including the authors¡¯ names, preference of oral/poster presentations, and appropriate topic number chosen from the nine topic areas listed above which best expresses the contents of your abstract. |

Attach you abstract at the last session of the form. |

Confirmation of receipt of abstract will be sent to the presenting author by e-mail. |

Notification of Acceptance |
|
Notice of acceptance will be e-mailed by July 15, 2008. Accepted Abstracts will be presented at oral or poster sessions. Abstracts accepted for presentation will be printed and distributed to all participants during the meeting. |

Oral Presentation |
|
| LCD projection will be available for oral presentations. |
|
Poster Presentation |
|
Please prepare your poster according to the following guidelines. The poster will be mounted on a panel of 28¡± wide and 36¡± long. Please refer to the illustration. |
|
Title |
|
Use an area at the top of the poster for the title, authors¡¯ names and affiliations. ISTA will assign a poster number at the meeting. |
|
Text, Tables, and Figures: |
|
All material should be visible from a distance of 2 meters. |
|
Language |
|
The official language of the Congress is English. |
